Nikah Gate FAQ
What is Nikah Gate?
Nikah Gates, developed independently by Masjid Tawhid, is a unique platform created to facilitate the marriage process for brothers and sisters while upholding Islamic values and safeguarding privacy. The vision is to “open the gates” for individuals seeking marriage in a halal manner, offering a space where connections can be made under the guidance of the Qur’an and Sunnah.
The process is designed with a family-first approach, where mahram (male guardians) play a major role from the very beginning. Applications for brothers and sisters are kept completely separate to maintain proper boundaries, with each gender completing their own specific form. Once applications are submitted, all information is securely stored in a dedicated spreadsheet.
Every quarter, candidates receive an email granting access to the relevant spreadsheet, allowing them to view potential matches while ensuring all interactions remain within the framework of Islamic etiquette.
Instead, communication begins with the involvement of mahram to ensure the process remains dignified and respectful. Once initial contact has been established between families, Masjid Tawhid steps back entirely, entrusting the next stages to the families involved. From that point onward, it is up to them to decide whether to proceed, ensuring the Masjid’s role remains that of a facilitator rather than an intermediary in personal matters.
By combining structured processes, strong family involvement, and strict adherence to Islamic principles, Nikah Gates ensures that the path to marriage remains both spiritually sound and culturally considerate.
Can anyone register for Nikah Gate?
Yes, anyone can register who is 18 or over. Doesn't matter if they're divorced, above a certain age or never married previously.
How does Masjid Tawhid get involved with meeting the potential spouse?
The Masjid does not get involved with candidates meeting with their potential spouse. This should be initiated by the Mahrams of the candidate, while following the Quran & Sunnah.
How does Nikah Gate ensure that the process is aligned with Islamic values?
Nikah Gate is guided by Islamic principles at every step of the process. Everything is designed to ensure that individuals are following the correct Islamic steps in seeking a marriage partner.
Can my family be involved in the process?
Yes, family involvement is highly encouraged. Once the gender-specific profiles are shared, it is the responsibility of the families to meet, discuss, and assess compatibility. The Masjid's involvement ends once the profiles are shared, leaving the process in the hands of the families.
How do I know if Nikah Gate is right for me?
If you're seriously considering marraige this is the right platform to get yourself involved in. It'll be an easier way to get through to brothers and sisters that also attend the Masjid, that are looking to get married. We have emphasised the families involvement and also simplified the process of looking for a spouse via the Masjid.
