Masjid Tawhid is launching a discreet food bank for anyone who requires assistance. 

The Masjid is currently collecting the following items:

  • tooth paste / tooth brush

  • hand wash / liquid clothes wash / shampoo / shower gel

  • toilet rolls / kitchen rolls

  • baby products / nappies, powder milk, etc

  • rice / pasta / oats

  • dry lentils

  • tinned food / fish / beans / chickpeas / vegetables

  • women products / sanitary towels

  • salt / sugar / spice bottles

  • tea-bags / instant coffee / powdered milk / long-life milk

  • sweets / chocolates

  • cooking oil

Items can be dropped off to the Masjid office Monday - Thursday between 2pm-5pm.

The Food Bank distributes food every Sunday between 12pm - 2pm, starting Sunday 14th March 2021.

Food Bank Volunteer Form

Volunteer Expectations Agreement
You, a Masjid Tawhid Food Bank Volunteer, agree to the following guidelines to make Masjid Tawhid Food Bank a safe and pleasant place for you to volunteer your time.
  1. Volunteers working in any capacity within Masjid Tawhid Food Bank must be at least 16 years of age.
  2. If any task causes you discomfort, or if you feel it is unsafe or unhealthy to perform a specific task, report the fact to a food bank staff member immediately.
  3. Wear sensible, appropriate clothing and footwear for the task(s) at hand. 
  4. Wash hands before beginning your shift, after eating, and after using the restroom.
  5. Alcohol and other drugs are prohibited in the workplace.
  6. There is a “No Smoking” policy.
  7. Report any injury immediately.
  8. Please avoid conversations, comments and language that are inappropriate in a professional workplace.
  9. Do not take any food from the food bank.
  10. Know that you are a vital part of the organisation and are helping to feed hungry families each and every shift.
