First Aid Course

We are excited to introduce free first aid and basic life support (BLS) sessions ran by Project SHIFA! Participants will be guided by fully qualified UCL medical students through training on tackling emergency situations. This comprehensive and interactive session offers vital insight on what to do when faced with heart attacks, strokes, seizures, cuts and burns, allergic reactions, as well as how to perform CPR on adults, children and babies. 

We believe this is important knowledge for all, to the benefit of both individuals and the community. Ayah 32 of Surah Al-Ma’idah lies at the heart of our project: “Whoever saves the life of one person is as if he has saved the life of all mankind”.

Each participant will get the opportunity to practice on simulatory equipment, receive a certificate and free resources at the end!

The session is open to all! Registration Required

1. Eligibility and Attendance

  • This training is open to female participants aged 16 and above.

  • All attendees must arrive on time. Late arrivals may be refused entry to ensure the session runs smoothly and respectfully.

2. Registration

  • Advance registration is required. Due to limited capacity, walk-ins will not be accepted.

  • Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

3. Conduct

  • Attendees are expected to maintain Islamic adab (etiquette) throughout the session.

  • Please approach the session with seriousness and attention, as it deals with emergency life-saving procedures.

  • Any disruptive behaviour may result in removal from the session.

4. Dress Code

  • Modest Islamic dress is required. Please wear a jilbab or abaya and hijab.

5. Privacy & Recording

  • No photography, video, or audio recording is permitted during the training.

  • Phones must be switched off or silenced during the session.

6. Health & Safety

  • If you are unwell or showing signs of illness, kindly refrain from attending out of consideration for others.

  • Please inform us in advance of any medical or accessibility needs.

7. Certification

  • Participants who attend the full session will receive a certificate of attendance.

  • Partial attendance may disqualify you from receiving a certificate.

8. Disclaimer

  • This session is for educational purposes only and does not certify you as a licensed medical provider.

  • The mosque, trainers, and facilitators are not liable for any personal injury or loss during the session.

9. Cancellation Policy

  • If you can no longer attend, please inform us promptly so your place can be offered to someone on the waiting list.

  • The mosque reserves the right to reschedule or cancel the session if needed.
