A Response to the Statement of Sr Nazima Sheikh

Sr Nazima Sheikh has put out a public letter which is wholly inaccurate and which contains many false accusations. These further bring the Trust into disrepute. This simply re-affirms our point that there are too many conflicts of interest around the Hasan family and their blind supporters for them to remain as Trustees and involved in mosque activities. We do not wish to respond to every such letter, and will not get into a public slanging match with the Hasan family who clearly want to bring negative media publicity to the mosque and Trustees in order to regain personal control of the mosque.

In sha' Allah we will concentrate our efforts on dealing with the investigation by the Charity Commission, reviewing the operation of the mosque and putting in place mechanisms for accountability and transparency in the running of the mosque. We are determined to move away from personal family control of the Trust.

We ask the Community not to fall prey to the misinformation being spread, but rather to engage positively and constructively in the re-development of our Mosque and Community Centre.
