Tawhid Orphan Relief
Tawhid Orphan Relief was setup in response to one of the most devastating earthquakes in Asia.
On 5th day of Ramadan (8th October 2005) an earthquake hit Pakistan that measured 7.6 on the Richter scale. The epicentre was Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
Masjid al-Tawhid, in response, has setup Tawhid Orphan Relief to help the most vulnerable of this disaster.
At present the Masjid attendees sponsor 150 children, mostly in the remote mountainous area of Bagh in Kashmir. The children are sponsored to stay with close family or relatives where their welfare is best served.
To sponsor a child is only £15 per month. Girls will be supported until they get married and boys will usually be supported until they reach the age of eighteen. The orphan will be regularly visited by local administrators. Sponsors will be allocated an orphan and receive detail reports of the orphan and updates on a regular basis.
The relief fund is for a complete welfare program:
Financial
Material
Educational
Spiritual
Many orphans still need sponsoring, for regular donation please complete a standing order form and return to the Masjid Office.
